Lot Description

Nine George III and later Fiddle pattern table spoons, to include a pair with initialled terminals, hallmarked Solomon Hougham, London 1808, a pair with monogrammed terminals, hallmarked Edward Farrell, London 1817, a further pair with monogrammed terminals, hallmarked William Seaman, London 1821, and a set of three William IV table spoons with engraved family crest to each terminal, hallmarked Mary Chawner, London 1836.  Combined weight 20 ozt (623 grams). (9).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the spoons display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use.  Heavier tarnishing is visible to some areas and they would all benefit from a clean and polish.  Numerous deeper scratches, marks and nicks are visible to all, also heavier wear around edges.  Slight surface dints and bumps and more wear to the tips of the bowls.  Two of the bowls in particular are in quite poor condition and the metal is very thin.  Some rubbing but the hallmarks are all still legible.
