Lot Description

A late Victorian shallow silver dish, the circular segmented body, eclectically chased and engraved with central initial engraving rising to the applied scroll and shell rim and standing on three feet. Hallmarked Edwin Charles Purdie, London 1899. Diameter measuring 6 1/4 inches (15.5 cm), weight 8.5 ozt (265 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavier tarnishing to the recesses. Initial engraving worn as is a little of the decoration with a little loss of definition. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
