Lot Description
A late seventeenth century silver trinket or wafer box, the circular form with floral line engraving to the detachable lid, initial engraving to the underside and silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked London, date letter indistinct and the maker's mark PH, listed in Jackson as registered in 1681-2 and ascribed to a wafer box. Diameter measuring 4.5 cm, weight 28.8 grams.

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
Numerous dints and bumps. Loss of definition to the details, edges and floral engraving. Dent to the underside. Initial engraving is off centre. Solder line to lid is visible. Hallmarks very worn and only part visible. Lid loose on body.
