A late Victorian silver snuff box, the oblong form with scalloped and concave edge, engraved to the lid 'F. P. J. Steenkamp' with scroll surround and opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked William Neale, Chester 1894. Length measuring 6.5 cm, weight 65 grams.

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Splits to the front corners. The lid rising slightly in the closed position. Gilding heavily discoloured to the inner base.
