Lot Description

A William IV silver vinaigrette, the oblong form with vacant cartouche, floral decoration within pricked and wrigglework borders opening to the silver-gilt interior with floral grille. Hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham, probably 1836. Length measuring 3 cm, weight 12.7 grams.

In good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Hinge a little loose and the lid does not hold firmly shut. Gilding bright. The hallmarks appear a little distorted.
