Lot Description

A Victorian silver sugar basket, the pedestal open work form depicting a classical chariot racing scene and figures, small initial engraving, with twisted swing handle, opaque green glass liner and standing on a circular footed base with reeded rim. Hallmarked Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1858.  Height measuring 5 inches (12.5 cm), silver weight 6.3 ozt (199 grams).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor shallow dent to the body. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark a little worn, swing handle unmarked.
