Lot Description
An early 20th century platinum and 18ct gold ruby and diamond butterfly brooch. The circular-shape ruby collet and diamond point body, to the openwork wings with old-cut diamond collet, vari-cut ruby and diamond point accents. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.50ct, I-J colour, SI clarity. Length 5.4cms. Weight 13.1gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with minimal wear and slight discolouration. One ruby with glue to surround and slight ill-fitting, possible replacement. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue and on our website for Coloured Gemstones. Rubies are a moderately well matched slightly purplish red through purplish red hue. One ruby with small chip. Minor abrasion. The diamonds appear relatively bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 1.40cts, which is no indication of the total diamond weight. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades.
