A late Victorian gold and silver gem-set butterfly brooch. The butterfly designed as a split pearl body, with diamond point, ruby and sapphire wings, to the split pearl terminal stylised pin. One split pearl deficient. Length 5.1cms. Weight 6.1gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good to fair overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. One split pearl deficient to butterfly body. Split pearls moderately well matched, some discolouration and wear. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue and on our website for Coloured Gemstones. The rubies are a moderately well matched orangey red through purplish red hue. Typical inclusions. The sapphires are a moderately well matched medium blue hue, slight differences in brightness. Minor abrasion. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 0.10ct, which is no indication of the total diamond weight. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Some gems possible replacements. General slight discolouration. Pin with slight bends. Clasp probable replacement with slight soft solder discolouration.
