A good pair of Japanese Meiji period Kyoto School Satsuma vases, each of ovoid form, finely painted with mirror image panels of bijin at the water's edge, figures on a boat beyond, Mount Fujiyama distant, the other similar figures on a picnic, some on wooden jetty, with gilt-speckled sky, the mazarine blue ground unusually moulded with flowerheads, Satsuma mon and seal marks beneath, 8.5" (21.5cm) high, together with a 19th century Japanese porcelain charger, the field centred by a bird, tree and rockwork, within similar cloud-shaped panels, further lozenge panels and diaperwork, underglaze blue Buddhist precious objects to reverse, 14.5" (37cm) diameter.

Vases- One has rubbing to both marks. Both extensively rubbed to gilt highlights of moulded flowerheads. Fine crazing. Charger- Very good condition.
