A good Victorian anodised monocular microscope. John B. Dancer, Manchester, the main tube with rack and pinion coarse focusing, two eyepieces and two objectives plus fittings, the oblong stage with two directional rack and pinion corner focusing, on a two-pillar stem and a Y-shaped base engraved 'J.B. Dancer Optician Manchester' in cursive script, 14" (35.5cm) high, the mahogany case fitted with eight drawers, including microscope slides to one, paper label to door, 16.25" (41cm) high excluding handle.
