Lot Description

A box containing an unusual early 20th century brass and oxidised folding microscope of small proportions, 'The Diagnostic', designed by Surgeon- Major Ross (Indian Army Medical Dept., later Sir Ronald Ross) for C. Baker, 244 High Holborn, the main tube with coarse and fine rack and pinion focusing, the oblong stage with condenser, on three hinged supports, one of 'wishbone' form inscribed as above, 8" (20cm) high, with three eyepieces and two objectives, together with four fitted boxes of additional eyepieces and objectives plus a Ross of London single-draw telescope.
