Lot Description

Diana, Princess of Wales, (1961-1997), an important personal letter with provenance, typewritten on cream foolscap headed paper from Kensington Palace, 11th August 1997, hand dedicated to 'Dear Dilys' and signed 'with love from Diana', thanking the recipient Dilys Cheetham for her work in the Mostar (Bosnia) refugee camps, the four fold sheet 13" x 8" (33cm x 20cm), in original envelope, sold with 'The Sun' 10th anniversary commemorative newspaper excerpt dated Thursday August 30th, 2007, referring to 'moving last letter she wrote days before death', reproduced in full, p.13, and documented on p.14 where stated 'Dilys, who died last year, sold the letter in a 1999 charity auction.', linked by direct provenance to the current owner.
