An original handwritten letter on Kensington Palace headed paper, written in black ink, reading 'Before leaving England, I wish to express my grateful thanks to you for the very beautiful present you have joined in giving me on the occasion of my marriage, I shall always treasure it as a remembrance of the kindness and affection ever shown me in my dear Irland [sic] home, Victoria Eugene, Princess of Battenberg', dated May 21st 1906, with original envelope with handwritten address to 'J. Winthrop Woodruff Esq, Binstead, Isle of White', overwritten later and in pencil 'Queen of Spain's letter on his Marriage 1906'.
