Henry Crowther (exh. 1905-39)

Oil on canvas, study of a collie dog, titled 'CH. Backwoods Famous', signed lower right hand corner and dated 1925, 13.5 x 17.5" (34.25cm x 44.5cm).
The 'Blackwoods' dynasty of champion collie dogs were bred by Mr. F. W. Bell in the 1920s/early 1930s and are still highly regarded in Kennel Club folklore.
