Attributed to Ferdinand Wagner, (1847-1927)

A rare large set of four oil paintings on canvas representing the Four Seasons, each with cherubs and seasonal emblems; Spring- picking blossoms, Summer- sunflowers, Autumn- with fruit, vegetables and a peacock, Winter- with a pumpkin, each 66" x 19", (168cm x 48cm), in carved gilt frame, to be joined as a folding screen, 71" (180cm) high, total width 96" (244cm).

Pink flowers- scuff and small hole to flowers, slight rub to centre right. Sunflowers- flaking to lowest figure (arms and body), other minor flaking along right side. Peacock- two patches. Pumpkin- Flaking to face and back of standing figure. Screens 1, 2 and 4 have fabric covering backs so cannot see canvas.
