The 11-inch square dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman half hour divisions, minutes and inner quarter hour track, signed 'Tho Stubbs London', framing a matted centre with silvered subsidiary seconds dial and terrestrial calendar square within Baroque mask spandrels, the later arch with silvered sun-engraved boss, the knopped and finned five-pillar movement internally countwheel striking on a bell, the associated George II case with stepped hood, blind fretwork frieze, turned columns and gilt decoration over a moulded long trunk door with figures and pavilions, the conforming base on stepped plinth, 93" (236cm) high.
