Lot Description

A North Italian marble-topped cream-painted and giltwood demi-lune console table. Probably late 18th century, the rosso antico marble top with moulded edge, on a shaped apron with foliate decoration raised on a single front support with shaped cabriole leg and scroll foot, 41" x 21" x 35.5" high (107cm x 53cm x 90cm).

Marble top probably later. Frame appears repainted but age of timber and hand-finishing is evident through paint. Rear plank may be replaced. Small loss where two halves of frame join to centre plus crack to front cartouche at top of support. Further age cracking to left side, plus minor flaking.
