Lot Description
A mid 20th century platinum ruby and diamond cocktail ring. Designed as a brilliant-cut diamond within a tapered calibre-cut ruby line, to the old-cut diamond sides and tapered band. One synthetic ruby replacement. Estimated total diamond weight 1ct. Weight 9.8gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Principal diamond and one outer diamonds are modern replacements. One synthetic ruby replacement. One ruby is cracked. Sizing marks in the band. Band misshapen. The rubies are well matched pinkish-red with fairly good clarity showing typical inclusions, one is cracked through the stone, the others have abrasion minor chips scratches and nicks. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Light nicks and chips can be seen to some. Fine feathers can be seen under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Ring size approximately N. Jade untested for natural colour origin.
