An early 20th century gold opal and split pearl necklace. The oval opal cabochon, suspended from a split pearl knife-edge bar, to the oval opal surmount and trace-link chain. Length 40.5cms. Total weight 8gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. Minor surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age/general wear. Composite piece, split pearl bar dates from the early 20th century, opal and chain also date from a similar period, later replacement catch. Catch and adjacent loops are replacements. Opals greyish-blue colour with play-of-colour from red through to violet, slightly uneven patches of colour. Opals have significant surface crazing/cracks. Opals fairly well matched. Split pearl bar stamped 15ct to reverse of setting. Catch stamped 9ct.
