A late 19th century silver and 9ct gold diamond star brooch. The old-cut diamond, within a graduated old-cut diamond twelve-rayed surround, to the rose-cut diamond accents, may be worn as pendant. Estimated total diamond weight 5.75cts. Length 4.8cms. Weight 12.1gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Surface has been extensively cleaned. Soft solder repairs to one arm of the star. Some replacement stones. Diamonds bright and fairly well matched. Individual size/setting prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.90ct, limits of the mount apply. Scattered light and dark coloured inclusions located under the table and towards the girdle, visible under magnification. Principal diamond in good condition with minor abrasion. Outer diamonds with scattered to large inclusions, some are surface reaching and visible to the unaided eye. Diamonds generally in good condition with minor abrasion, some in fair condition with significant nicks associated with surface reaching inclusions. With detachable brooch fitting, screw thread mechanism.
