Lot Description

A travelling watch by Jays. Hallmarked Birmingham 1937. Unsigned manual wind movement. Silvered dial with hour markers, Arabic numeral three, nine and twelve, subsidiary seconds dial to six. Silver case. 39mm.

<li>Movement is not currently functioning.

<li>Movement will need attention as it will not wind. Upon close inspection there are several marks and tarnishes visible.

<li>Dial is in poor condition with several bad markings around the rim. On the actual watch face there are significant marks and fading, especially around the 3 hour marker, the subsidiary dial appears in good condition though.

<li>Hands show medium wear. There is a clear mark on the minute hand and some discolouration on both hands. There is small marks around the edge of the hand markers themselves. The subsidiary hand appears in good condition however.

<li>Glass appears in good condition with a few light scratches visible.

<li>The outer case shows medium wear with some clear fading missing off the front. The inner case shows significant tarnishing around the dial especially towards the hinge of the case.

<li>The outer case back shows light wear commensurate with general use including patched fading and a few minor scratches visible under close inspection. The inner case back shows heavy wear with significant tarnishes and a few minor scratches visible upon close inspection. Tarnishes are especially clear towards the latch and hinge of the case. The hinge is in poor condition with significant discolouration.<p>
