Lot Description

An open face pocket watch by J Worthington. Hallmarked Birmingham 1894, Signed full plate key wind Going barrel movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. White enamel dial with Roman numeral hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial to six. Silver case. 50mm. Together with a stamped white metal pocket watch.

<li>Movement is not currently functioning.

<li>Balance would acquire attention. There are significant discolouration around the movement that is clear to the naked eye. upon closer inspection scratches become visible.

<li>Dial is in poor condition showing heavy wear. There is discolouration around the dial and there is a hairline scratch between the 8 and 9 hour markers. On the subsidiary dial upon close inspection there are several clear tarnishes visible and a hairline scratch across the radius of the subsidiary. On the main dial there is significant tarnishes at the 6 marker.

<li>The main hands are in poor condition with considerable discolouration apparent after close inspection.  The subsidiary hand however appears in good condition.

<li>Glass shows light wear commensurate with general use including some light scratches visible and general marks that may be removed after cleaning.

<li>Case shows clear discolouration and fine scratches around the bezel and main body of the watch. There is a slight dent at the 6 hour marker. Upon close inspection some more scratches become visible.

<li>Case back shows medium wear commensurate with general use. There is clear discolouration on the outer face of the case back and a few large tarnishes near the centre. Upon close inspection scratches around the rim and the centre become apparent. The inner face shows clear marks and several light scratches. The inner case back however is in relatively good condition with a few scratches visible and some small dents commensurate with general use visible.

<li>Pendant bow shows clear discolouration and some light scratches become visible upon close inspection.<p>

<li>Movement is not currently functioning.

<li>Balance appears in good condition with sufficient play. The general movement area shows clear discolouration and one significant scratch by the escape wheel.

<li>Dial shows clear tarnishes, particularly around the centre and the subsidiary.  Upon close inspection tarnishes become more apparent around the hour markers but there are no scratches visible.

<li>Hands show medium wear commensurate with general use including some discolouration and tarnishes present.

<li>Glass shows medium wear in the form of many fine scratches visible to the naked eye.

<li>Case shows many light scratches around the bezel land rim of the case. There is significant discolouration around the rim also. Upon close inspection a few dents become visible but overall the condition is good for its use.

<li>Case back shows medium wear commensurate with general use. Several large tarnishes are visible around the edge of the outer case back. Upon close inspection several fine scratches become apparent. The inner face of the case back is in overall good condition apart from slight discolouration. The inner case back is in good condition with a few minor scratches visible upon close inspection. The hinges are in relatively good condition with just slight discolouration visible to the naked eye.

<li>Pendant bow shows medium discolouration and upon close inspection there are a few scratches visible.<p>
