Lot Description
A dated Victorian Scottish coin holder, of octagonal form, one plated face engraved with a figure, horse and cart before buildings, inscribed beneath 'This box is made of oak which formed part of the old Stockwell bridge Glasgow. Built 1345. Taken down 1850', the other face engraved 'Mr. Aaron Hall contractor, Shettlestone near Glasgow 1865', over conjoined double coin aperture with revolving cover, revealing clasped hands of friendship/contract when closed, 3", (7.5cm) diameter.
