A 19th century cast brass figural inkwell, modelled as a portly seated figure, perhaps Falstaff, with feathered hat, bearded face and tunic hinged to reveal ink reservoir, the figure raising a goblet in a toasting gesture, his other hand upon a sheathed sword, seated upon an x-frame chair, 5.5" (14cm) high.
