A good late 19th century Swiss inlaid rosewood drums-bells-castanets in sight cylinder musical box
Attributed to Nicole Freres
The 13-inch pinned barrel playing eight airs on three-part comb, before a brass drum, pyramid of six bells and castanets, with change/repeat and stop/start slots, the case with floral inlay and boxwood-strung frames, 24” x 12” x 10.5”, (61cm x 30.5cm x 26.5cm).
A similar box by Nicole Freres was sold in these rooms, 25th February 2014, lot 386.
