Lot Description

A pair of early 19th century oval silkworks.
One depicting a shepherdess and lamb beneath a tree before a thatched cottage, the other a child with bird and nest, 8” x 6.5”, (20cm x 16.5cm), each in oval verre eglomise surround and gilt frame, together with a pair of landscape paintings by Leyton Forbes, (4).

Both in decent condition, with none of the usual damage to sky. Verre eglomise surrounds have some flaking, and frames both have some superficial flake losses.
Paintings are late works of modest quality, requiring reframing.
