Lot Description
Two late 19th to early 20th century gold gem-set rings. To include a 15ct gold ruby and split pearl panel ring with scrolling shoulders, together with an 18ct gold ruby and opal cluster ring with scrolling gallery. First with hallmarks partially rubbed. Total weight 5.5gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Both with evidence of resizing. First with repair to the shoulders, one part of one shoulder is unattached. Tarnishing to the settings and wear to the gilt surfaces. Both rings with possible replacement stones. Rubies vary in appearance, pinkish-red with pale to fair colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Fair to good condition with some abrasion, nicks and nibbles. Opals translucent, play-of-colour from red through to violet. Opals in fair condition, generally with surface abrasion, one with a nibble, one with a chip and surface reaching fracture to one section, durability may be affected. Split pearls creamy colour, vary slightly in size, some replacements. Fairly good skins with surface blemishes.
