Lot Description
A mid 20th century diamond and sapphire panel ring. The old-cut diamond, within a fancy-cut sapphire and old-cut diamond stepped panel, to the fancy-cut sapphire semi-circular shoulders and grooved band. Principal diamond weight 1.14cts, engraved to band, estimated I-J colour, SI clarity. Weight 5.6gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with age/general wear. Evidence of resizing and thinning to the back of the band. Two sizing beads to the inner band. Sapphires blue, moderate to dark colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions, to include colour banding. Gemstones generally in good condition with some abrasion and nibbles, one chipped, possible replacement stone. Two inclusions, each located under a kite facet, visible under magnification. Principal diamond in good condition with minor abrasion. Outer diamonds bright and well matched. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Scattered inclusions visible under magnification. Outer diamonds in good condition, mostly with minor abrasion, a few with nicks. Ring size K1/2. Engraved 1.14.
