Lot Description

Cheshire Football Association, 9ct gold by Vaughtons & Sons, Winners Senior Cup medal 1926, named to G. Smith, Tranmere Rovers. Further West Lancashire Football League Champions 9ct gold and enamel medal 1932-33 named to G. Smith, Chorley, a silver Liverpool & District Teachers Association medal named to G. Smith 1915, two Liverpool & District silver and enamel sports league medals, unnamed and a base metal Liverpool boys football team badge, unnamed. (6). <p>


George Smith, an inside forward, joined Tranmere Rovers from Gillingham on the 31st July 1924 and played 35 Football League games before moving to Coventry City in 1926-7 season. George also played alongside Dixie Dean in the Cheshire County League and in the Cheshire Senior K O Cup.


The Cheshire Football Association Winners Senior Cup medal 1926, awarded at the final of the 1925-26 season, held at Northwich Victoria's ground on the 10th of April 1926. Tranmere reserves beat Winsford United 3-1 to win the cup.
