A late 19th century gold shell cameo hinged bangle. The oval-shape shell cameo, carved to depict a warrior, possibly Ares the Greek god of war, within a decorative surround, to the floral engraved side panels. Inner diameter 5.5cms. Weight 19.5gms.

Overall condition good. Some surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Some wear to the gilt surface. Hinge with an area of dark discolouration. Minor discolouration and minor indentations to the inner surfaces. Shell in good condition with minor surface wear and abrasion. Typical minor fine fracture with slight discolouration to the helmet.
