An amethyst and diamond ring. The late 19th century continental 18ct gold and silver circular-shape amethyst and old-cut diamond panel, with old-cut diamond accent border, to the later replacement band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.60ct. Band with French assay marks. Total weight 6.6gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and tarnishing in keeping with age/general wear. Gem-set panel may have originally been from a brooch or other item of jewellery. Scratches and file marks to the sides of the circular mount. Some evidence of repair. Some possible replacement diamonds, evidence of repair to the settings. Amethyst pinkish-purple, moderate colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Gemstone in good condition with some scratches and nicks. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Scattered inclusions visible under magnification.
