Lot Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold and platinum ruby, diamond and seed pearl brooch. The square-shape ruby and diamond point undulating line, with replacement seed pearl quarterly intervals, to the rose-cut diamond geometric frame. Length 2.8cms. Weight 7.4gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Minor surface wear in keeping with age. File marks to a small area of the reverse. Later added hinged safety bridge, slightly different in hue. Replacement seed pearls with glue residue. Gemstones well matched. Rubies pinkish-red, moderate to good colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Gemstones in good condition with some nicks. Please see Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue or on our website for coloured gemstones. Seed pearls untested for natural origin. Creamy white with rose and greenish overtones. Fairly good lustre. Fairly good skins with some surface blemishes. Diamonds fairly bright and well matched. Estimated total diamond spread weight 0.55ct, which is no indication of the actual total diamond weight. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Scattered to large inclusions visible under magnification. Diamonds in fair to good condition with some significant nicks and nibbles.
