A late 19th century shell cameo brooch. The oval shell cameo carved to depict two Putti, one holding aloft a wreath and a lyre, the other writing a script, to the surrounding clouds, trumpet, wreath and pair of doves, within a rope-twist and bead surround. Length 4.8cms. Weight 20.4gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Some scratches and wear to the gilt surface. Minor indentations to the reverse. Replacement safety chain and base metal pin. Evidence of alteration to the hinge fitting. Cameo in fair condition with some wear, smoothing and loss of detail to the carving.
