Lot Description
A set of four early twentieth century silver open salts, each of plain cauldron shape with gadroon rim and raised on three paw feet, hallmarked William Aitken, Birmingham 1912. Together with a slightly later similar pair, hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1929. Combined weight 10.57 ozt (328.7 grams).

Condition Report
In fair to good overall condition, all the salts displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier spots and areas of tarnishing to some, also some deeper scratches and nicks. Interiors were likely once gilded but are now worn and faded. Some slight rubbing but the hallmarks are all still clear and legible. No glass liners.
