A Victorian silver mounted desk letter clip, the oblong body with stepped edge and canted corners rising to the hinged clip pierced with central monogram and surrounding floral motifs, all set with tortoiseshell. Hallmarked Henry Atkin, London 1894, patent & brevete S.G.D.G. W. Thornhill & Co. 144 New Bond St. Maximum length measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
The filling to the base has started to deteriorate and move, along with some wear to the leather covering to the underside. The pins holding the hinged arm to the base is loose. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
