Lot Description
An Irish silver mounted horse hoof inkwell, realistically modelled horse hair and further mounted with a plain silver horseshoe to the underside, the name engraved flat hinged lid opening to reveal a single well to the interior. Hallmarked West & Son, Dublin 1949. Maximum height measures 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm).

Condition Report
The item appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general wear including surface scratches and marks and some tarnishing to the silver mounts. Likely small repair to the lower back of the horse hair mount. Hinged lid appears in good working order. On one side there is a slight gap between the base of the hoof and the silver horse shoe, the screw fixing possibly needs tightening. The hallmarks and part hallmarks are clear and legible.
