A George III silver desk ink stand, the oblong form raised on four scroll feet with scroll pierced open-work edge with scalloped rim, supporting two associated silver mounted glass inkwells, all crested. Hallmarked Nathaniel Smith & Co, Sheffield 1801, the inkwells with later lion passant only. Length of stand measuring 10 inches (25 cm), weight of stand 18.8 ozt (587 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Glass inkwells are chipped. Lion passant only to visible to the inkwell mounts, other hallmarks are clear and legible.
