Lot Description

A George III silver desk ink stand, the oblong form raised on four scroll feet with scroll pierced open-work edge with scalloped rim, supporting two associated silver mounted glass inkwells, all crested. Hallmarked Nathaniel Smith & Co, Sheffield 1801, the inkwells with later lion passant only. Length of stand measuring 10 inches (25 cm), weight of stand 18.8 ozt (587 grams).
