Lot Description
A George III silver teapot, of oval outline with lobed decoration to the lower body and spout with central engraved initial, fruitwood handle and conforming finial to the domed lid, the lid also with lobed detail. Hallmarked London 1803 with maker's mark 'I.B'. Maximum length measures 11 5/8 inches (29.5 cm), gross weight 15.79 ozt (491 grams).

Condition Report
The teapot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some dints and bumps and heavier scratches and nicks to some areas. Splits in the metal around the tip of the spout. Splits and cracks in the wood finial. Slight damage to hinges so that the lid is a little loose. Heavy tarnishing and staining to interior. The hallmarks are clear and legible, also struck with lion passant to lid.
