Lot Description

An American small silver footed dish with swing handle, the oval form ornately embossed throughout with various flowers and foliage against a hammered ground, conforming decoration to the handle and oval foot. Impressed maker's mark to the underside for Samuel Kirk (Baltimore), circa 1896-1924, also marked 925/1000. Maximum length measures 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 11.12 ozt (346 grams).

The dish appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear including surface scratches and marks. Polished appearance. Swing handle in good working order. The maker's mark is located to the underside and is clear and legible. Also with impressed number '83 D'.
