Lot Description

An Edwardian silver chatelaine, the floral scroll openwork triform clip with five fancy link  suspension chains supporting a selection of accessories, some associated; scissor case, needle case, a thimble holder modelled as walnut, a pencil and a notepad. Hallmarked Lawrence Emanuel, Birmingham 1902/3, the walnut hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1900, the pencil marked sterling silver, the notepad hallmarked London import 1901. Maximum length measuring 13 1/2 inches (34 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some rubbing and loss of definition and detail. As per description, many of the accessories are matched or composite, bearing a variance of hallmarks. Dents present to the small pencil attached to the notepad. The singular pencil is not hallmarked and possibly American. Bayonet fixture to the holder is stretched and distorted. Thimble present is plated and a more recent addition. Scissors present are base metal and not original. Additional pair of early twentieth century silver handled scissors and nail buffer also present with lot. Hallmarks appear with some variance, overall legible.
