Lot Description
A 1930's silver table bell, of typical form with line border detail and openwork finial, with silver ball clapper. Hallmarked Reid & Sons, London 1937. Maximum height measures 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm), gross weight 5.96 ozt (185.4 grams).
The bell is similar in design to the large Silver Bell presented to HMS Nelson in 1928, by the people of Tyneside.

Condition Report
The bell appears in fair to good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier marks and scratches visible to some areas, also several small surface dints. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark a little worn and rubbed but still legible. Also part hallmarks to the clapper.
