Lot Description

A late Victorian silver bowl, gadrooned with flared rim and spiral frieze, with inscription, together with an oriental pepperette embossed with a five-clawed dragon. Bowl hallmarked Charles Boyton (II), London 1883. Height 2 1/2 inches (6.4 cm), gross weight 2.66 ozt (82.8 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Slight gilt traces to interior. Engraving "March 8th 1879" with "H.L.D." to the reverse. Maker's mark possibly overstruck. Small, minor dents to the bowl. Small dents to the salt pot. Asian character marks to the base.
