Lot Description

A nineteenth century 9ct gold bloodstone mounted novelty vinaigrette, modelled as a basket, the slightly tapered body, with oval shaped bloodstone seal base and swing handle, the vinaigrette with twin pierced compartments. Length, excluding handle, 2.4cm. Weight 2 grams.

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. One of the vinaigrette sides has a small dent to the rim, which means that one side of the lid does not currently open. The bloodstone seal panel is unengraved, minimal abrasions. Contains original sponge to at least one side. Tests as 9ct gold - no hallmarks present.
