Lot Description

A pair of George II silver open salts of cauldron form, raised on three hoof feet, with gadrooned inverted rim, monogrammed. Probably hallmarked David Hennell I, London 1753. Diameter 2 5/8 inches (6.6cm), gross weight 4.04 ozt (125.6 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hallmarks worn but legible. Maker's marks partially rubbed. Monogram GHS, with a separate 'B' engraved to the underside. Inside of the bowls are significantly discoloured. Minor, small, shallow dents to the bowls.
