Lot Description

A George III pair of silver cluster column candlesticks, each with removable nozzle having an ovolo moulded border and a stiff leaf capital, the whole raised above a square base decorated with ram's head masks and husk swags within beaded borders, loaded. Hallmarked Tudor & Leader (Henry Tudor & Thomas Leader), Sheffield 1775. Height measures 12 1/4 inches (31 cm).

The candlesticks appear in good overall condition, both displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor nicks/dints. Replacement baize to undersides. The hallmarks appear a little rubbed but all are still legible. Also corresponding part hallmarks to removable nozzles.
