A Victorian Scottish mahogany cased 8-day painted dial drum-head longcase clock, James Thompson, Dumphries, circa 1880, the 13-inch circular Roman dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials, the movement rack-striking on a coiled gong, the 'keyhole' case with carved cresting, the moulded circular hood door hinged at XII, on leaf carved supports, the braodening trunk with arch-moulded door between canted corners on a panelled base, plinth and block feet, 79.5" (202cm) high.

Minor dirt and wear to dial, numbers slightly faded, slight flaking around winding squares. Movement appears ok but untested. Some splits to drumhead case and a vertical crack to base.
