A fine late 18th century Dutch walnut and marquetry bombe bureau, the top finely inlaid with cornucopiae issuing tulips between butterflies and foliate spandrells, the shaped fall of similar design with additional central urn, perching birds and further cornucopiae topped by nests of chicks and perching adult birds, all within chequered oval stringing and foliate border, enclosing a fine interior with central serpentine cupboard between Corinthian column-fronted book pilasters and banks of stepped serpentine drawers, in turn above an inlaid sliding well cover and inlaid panel to writing surface, the exterior with inlaid frieze between lopers over three bombe-fronted graduated long drawers, projecting bombe front corners and carved paw feet, the sides with further inlaid urns of flowers, 52" x 25" x 44" high, (132cm x 63cm x 112cm).
