MURRLE BENNETT & CO. - an early 20th century 15ct gold opal and split pearl brooch. Of openwork design, the oval opal cabochon, within a scrolling surround, to the split pearl tapered sides. Maker's mark for Murrle Bennett & Co. Length 4.4cms. Weight 6gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Minor discolouration. Stamped 15ct. Possible repair/later addition/replacement fittings. Slight discolouration to split pearls. Opal displays good play of colour, predominantly in green and blue hues. Minor abrasion.
