Lot Description
A late 19th century gold cultured and split pearl pendant. Of circular-outline, the split pearl stylised floral panel, with cultured pearl detail and similarly-set surmount. May be worn as a brooch. Length 4.6cms. Weight 11.3gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Brooch pin of a different tone and my be a different fineness of gold. Length includes surmount. The split pearls are fairly well matched for colour showing a slightly creamy to silvery white, some pink overtones and moderate lustre. The central cultured pearl is possible a later replacement and has a white body colour with pink and green overtones and fairly good lustre. Split pearls untested for natural origin. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
